UPD720201K8-701-BAC-A is an ASSP (USB3.0 HOST CONTROLLER). It is third third-generation universal serial Bus 3.0 host controller, which complies with universal serial bus 3.0 specification, and Intel’s extensible Host Controller Interface (xHCI). This device reduces power consumption and offers a smaller package footprint making it ideal for designers who wish to add the USB3.0 interface to mobile computing devices such as laptops and notebook computers. It supports up to four USB3.0 SuperSpeed ports and the μPD720202 supports up to two USB3.0 SuperSpeed ports. It uses a PCI Express® Gen 2 system interface bus allowing system designers to easily add up two USB3.0 SuperSpeed ports to systems containing the PCI Express bus interface. Typical applications are desktop and laptop computers, tablet, server, PCI express card/express card, digital TVs, set-top-box, BD players/recorder, media player, digital audio systems, projectors, multi-function printer, storage, router, NAS, etc.
