200W high-voltage brushless DC (BLDC) motor driver in sensorless field oriented control (FOC) operation. The 3-phase inverter uses BridgeSwitch (BRD1263C) and LinkSwitch-TN2 (LNK3204D). This 97% efficient solution requires no heat sink and is designed for 340VDC input, 0.67A RMS continuous motor phase current. The design includes three 600V BridgeSwitch BRD1263C devices and shows the device performance, internal level monitoring, system level monitoring and fault protection facilitated by the highly integrated BridgeSwitch half-bridge motor driver IC. A high voltage, low component count buck converter employing a LinkSwitch-TN2 LNK3204D device supplies the current sense amplifier and optionally provides external bias for BridgeSwitch. The solution supports any microcontroller (MCU) for sensorless FOC through the signal interface with instantaneous phase current output signal and fault reporting for each BridgeSwitch device.
