The MAX3293AUT+T is a 250Kbps, +3.3V, RS485/ RS422 transmitter in 6 pin SOT-23 package. The low power, high speed transmitter for RS485/RS422 communication operates from a single +3.3V power supply. The device contains one differential transmitter. This device is slew rate limited to minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused by improperly terminated cables. The output level at +1.5V with a standard 54ohm load compliant with RS485 specifications. The transmitter draws 5mA of supply current when the device not connected to load and 1μA in low power shutdown mode (DE = GND). Hot-swap circuitry eliminates false transitions on the data cable during circuit initialization or connection to a live backplane. The short circuit current limiting and thermal shutdown circuitry protect the driver against excessive power dissipation.
