MAX31888ALT+ is a 1-wire high-precision, low-power digital temperature sensor. The sensor communicates with a microcontroller over a 1-Wire® bus that requires only one data line (and a ground reference) for communication. In addition, the sensor can derive power directly from the data line through “parasite power”, eliminating the need for an external power supply. Each MAX31888 has its own unique 64-bit registration number that is factory-programmed into the chip. This unique 64-bit registration number acts as the node address in the case of a multi-drop 1-Wire® network. In multi-drop networks, optional GPIO pins can be used as address bits to identify each device's physical location. It is used in applications such as precision temperature monitoring, RTD replacement, internet of things (IoT) sensors, cold chain.
