MAX3160CAP+T

The MAX3160CAP+T is a +3V to +5.5V, 1µA, RS232/RS485/422 multiprotocol transceiver in 20 pin SSOP package. It is pin programmable as 2transmitter/2receiver RS232 interface or a single (half/full duplex) RS485/422 transceiver. This device includes low-dropout transmitter output stage and an onboard dual charge pump to allow RS232 and RS485/422 performance from a +3V to +5.5V supply. It also features pin-selectable transmitter slew rates for both RS232 and RS485/422 modes. Slew-rate limiting minimizes EMI and reduces reflections caused by improperly terminated cables allowing error-free data transmission up to 250Kbps. Disabling slew-rate limiting allows device to transmit data rate up to 10Mbps in RS485/RS422 mode and 1Mbps in RS232 mode. This circuit configuration is ideal for the design of RS232 to RS485 converters, multiprotocol buses or any application that requires both RS232 and RS485 transceivers.
