MAX5825BAUP+

The MAX5825BAUP+ is an ultra small, octal channel, 12bit buffered output digital to analogue converter (DAC) in 20 pin TSSOP package. This low power, voltage output DAC includes output buffers and an internal 3ppm/°C reference that is selectable to be 2.048V, 2.500V or 4.096V. It accepts wide supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V with extremely low power of 6mW consumption to accommodate most low voltage applications. A precision external reference input allows rail to rail operation and presents 100Kohm load to an external reference. The DAC output is buffered and has low supply current of less than 250μA per channel and low offset error of ±0.5mV. The device has watchdog function which can be enabled to monitor the I/O interface for activity and integrity. The MAX5825 is typically used in programmable voltage and current sources, gain and offset adjustment, power amplifier control and biasing, servo loops, automatic tuning and optical control.

• Monotonic over all operating conditions and outputs directly drives 2Kohm loads
• Integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±0.5LSB and differential nonlinearity (DNL) of ±0.2LSB
• Gain error of ±0.1%FS, zero scale error of +10mV and full scale error of +0.5%FS
• Supply current of 2mA at VREF=4.096V (internal reference) and 1.9mA at VREF=5V (external reference)
• I2C compatible 2-wire interface that operates at clock rates up to 400KHz
• Pin selectable power-on reset to zero scale or midscale DAC output
• Active-low LDAC and active-low CLR for asynchronous DAC control
• Three software selectable power down output impedances (1Kohm, 100Kohm or high impedance)
